OCCASIONWEAR HAUL – 12 Outfits for Spring Summer 2023

Hi there, loves! Welcome back to my Blog. Today, we’ve got a massive occasion haul, and I feel like whenever I ask, everyone is always looking for occasion dresses. So, I thought now would be a perfect time to do another haul. Everything is going to be shoppable, so I’ve tried to pick new-in bits. If you are new here, do not forget to subscribe to my Newsletter before you leave. Let’s get started.

Cream Midi Dress

We’re kicking off with my favorite dress from this video, and it’s truly unbelievable. I actually filmed a reel over on my Insta with a bit of occasion wear, featuring some of the dresses in this video. This one arrived just after I filmed the reel, and I was devastated because I love it so much. I really wanted to include it. Obviously, it’s cream, so I’m not sure if it’s suitable for a wedding guest, but for a christening or any other occasion like a graduation, it looks so chic. I can’t even tell you. The material gives off Chanel vibes, and I absolutely love the fold. It looks so sophisticated with a midi length. One thing I adore about Karen Millen is the length on their pieces. Being five foot ten, I often struggle to find things long enough, but Karen Millen always comes through.

The dress also features a lovely split, which is a bit hard to show on the screen. I think it comes up to the perfect length. Let me show you how good it looks on. I felt so nice in this; as soon as I put it on, I thought, “Can I wear this immediately?” I paired it with a little waistband to finish off the look. Before we move on, I got this one in a size eight, and the fit is perfect. It also has these little straps, perfect if you want to wear it strapless.

Next up, we have another favorite of mine, and I think this is perfect for a black-tie wedding. I feel like there’s a lot of them around, and when I eventually get married, I might go for that vibe—black-tie, maybe even a tuxedo. I love the idea of all the guests wearing a certain color. This dress is stunning; I loved it. The fit is amazing with the off-the-shoulder detail and a little strip of material for a unique touch. It’s a bit hard to show in black, but you’ll see it on in a sec. The fit is unreal; I felt amazing in this. The dress has a plunging detail that’s really flattering, and there’s another split, more on the side this time. It adds a super sophisticated touch, and the arms stay in place, thanks to the unique material. It’s not sticky, but it does stay on your skin, so it stays in position all day.

I got this in a size eight, and it was perfect on me. It comes in other colors too, in case you’re not into black for weddings. I know some people prefer not to wear black, and it’s available in red, blue, and possibly white. Definitely not white for a wedding, but this dress could also work for any black-tie event. I’m not sure about a graduation, but I’ll find an occasion to wear it because I loved it so much.

Flower Off Shoulder Dress

Next up, we’re going for some unique guest vibes with this one. I feel like you could even rock this as a bridesmaid dress. If you’re on the lookout for bridesmaid dresses, it’s so pretty and feminine. I particularly loved the sleeves; when I saw it online, I thought, “I’ve got to have that.” They stay in place and look fab. Again, it’s off the shoulder with a nice cinched waist and thorns that keep it in place, creating a bit of a puffy effect in the skirt.

There’s some tulle there that adds a touch of exaggeration, making it flare out a bit more just underneath the waist, which is really flattering. I love the length on this one—so pretty and a perfect midi length for me. As I mentioned, being quite tall, I often struggle with finding the right length, but this one nails it. I got this in a size eight.

Off White Summer Dress

Lastly, from Karen Millen, we have this stunning cream summer dress. I absolutely love this one; I saw it online, and we’re actually going away next week, so I thought it would be perfect for one of the evenings. The buttons from Karen Millen are always a detail to admire. How pretty are these little buttons? The scallop edge on the top and all the detailing just comes together so beautifully. There’s a waist tie, and if you’re a subscriber, you know how much I rave about having waist ties—they’re so flattering. Towards the end of the dress, you have that scalloped detailing on the bottom, adding an extra touch of prettiness.

It’s hard to show off online, but when you put it on, that’s when you truly see how pretty it is. I wouldn’t wear this to a wedding, but for any other summer event, like a summer party or christening, it’s perfect. It felt comfortable and light, ideal for summer. I sized up for this one, getting a size 10. I’m normally an eight to ten in Karen Millen, but there’s not much give in this material. It’s lacy cotton, so I ordered a 10, and it fit me perfectly. I wouldn’t have been able to size down; I probably would have gone for an eight, but I like that I can tie it at the waist without it being skin-tight everywhere else.

Flower House of CB

Next up we’re going to talk about this flowery number from House of CB. I’ve got a couple of their dresses, and I love their spring-summer collections—they’re always so pretty. This one, in particular, has so many nice details, like the tiny scalloped cotton edge. It cinches in at the waist, and then you have this floaty skirt. I do wish it was a bit more flowy around this area; it’s quite tight.

I think a bit more volume in the skirt would make it even better, but I still love it. The pattern is stunning—a yellow base with flowers, not white, so it could work for a wedding, especially with that floral touch. There’s a little ring at the back on the sleeves, adding a lovely detail. I got this one in a size small, which is my usual size for House of CB. I also have a medium if something doesn’t have much give, but the small in this dress fitted perfectly.

Black Floral Asos

We’re moving on to this little black and floral number from ASOS of Design. ASOS Design offers some really lovely wedding guest options, and the length on this is actually okay. I was a little bit concerned because sometimes things end up being too short for me, but the length on this was perfect. It boasts lovely puff sleeves and intricate details. A close-up reveals the beauty of the embroidered flowers, giving an extra touch of prettiness to this little black dress.

The neckline is just right—not too low that you can’t wear a bra. I got this in a size eight, and it fit perfectly. I especially adore the sleeves and the cute bow detailing. I styled it with shoulder accessories from Dorothy Perkins, and aren’t they just lush? They have that little bow you might have seen on Instagram, and I love how similar they look to the Jimmy Choo ones. It’s so cute!

Orange One Shoulder

Moving on, we have this vibrant orange dress from Forever New. The one-shoulder detail with little diamantes in the front is stunning. I’ll take it off the hanger because it’s a bit tricky to showcase properly. The back also has a similar detailing, making it so pretty. The color is absolutely lush, and I think it’s showing up nicely on the camera—a bright orange that would look fantastic at a warm destination wedding, especially with a tan.

The length is just right, and I appreciate that because sometimes midi dresses can come up a bit short. I got this in a size 8, and it fitted perfectly. The material has a lot of stretch, so if you’re between sizes, you can definitely size down. This one benefits from being more figure-hugging, given its bodycon style.

Pink Short Dress

Back to Asos for this pink number, and you know what? I feel like this is going to be a love or hate situation. When I ordered it, I wasn’t really sure—I saw it online and thought, “Do I love it or hate it?” I couldn’t even tell myself. But then, when I put it on, I was like, “I actually love it. It’s so fun!” Again, this is from Asos Design. I wore it with one shoulder off because that’s how the model did it on the website. I think with both shoulders up, it looked a bit too extravagant, so I preferred it with just one shoulder off. I’ll show you a close-up of the material; there aren’t any bones in this, so it’s not structured.

You really need to get the right size. The length is short, no doubt about it. You’ll see in the clip, but I didn’t feel like it was too short. Let me know what you think. Normally, if something’s too short, I’d be checking and pulling it down, but I felt fine in it. Let me know your thoughts; everyone’s different, and some say for a wedding, it can’t be too far above the knee. I got this in a size eight, and I just love the color. It’s very pretty and different from anything else I’ve seen.

White Floral Dress

Now, let’s talk about this little floral number from Forever New. It’s white with pink flowers, and I’m a bit unsure about wearing it to a wedding. What are your thoughts? However, for any other occasion, I think it would be lovely. It features a cute calf sleeve, and it’s very light and airy—super comfy. I imagine this would be great for summer, perhaps a summer party or an engagement party. I got this in a size 10, and it fits perfectly.

It has adorable little buttons and a waist tie. There’s a theme in all my hauls—I’m always excited about lovely buttons and waist ties. I just tend to gravitate towards things with waist ties for that skater-style skirt. You can see it on, and the length is on the shorter side, but I didn’t feel paranoid about it. If you’re shorter than me, it might come a bit longer on you.

Rust Fringe Dress

Now, let’s talk about this rust midi dress, and this one is also from Asos Design. It’s a bit challenging to showcase on the hanger because it doesn’t do much justice, but you’ll understand when you see it on. It has a flattering front detail that gives it a lovely fit, and the back has some attractive detailing. I always appreciate a bit of back detailing. The colors attracted me on the website, and there’s elastic here that keeps everything in place.

Again, it’s a bodycon style with lots of stretch, so you want to take your smaller size down, not size up. I got this in a size eight, and it fit perfectly. I paired it with tan sandals because I thought the colors complement each other well. I can envision wearing this to a wedding in a hot location or for something special, like a holiday dinner or an anniversary celebration.

Zara Dress

Next up, we have this dress from Zara, and normally, by this point in the hauls, I’ve shown you several Zara pieces, but this time, we only have one. It seems they’re not offering as much occasion wear lately. I did a little browse, and a few months ago, they had some options, but nothing really stood out to me. I picked up this one because I thought it was cute and very minimalist, a bit different from what we’ve seen so far. I love the color; it’s so lush for spring and summer, which is what caught my eye on the website. It has strapless detailing with elastic, so once it’s on, it stays in place quite well.

I’m a bit uncertain about the size; I got a small, but I’ll let you decide. When I put it on, I felt it might be a tad too big, but I loved how it looked on others. It’s a bit of a dilemma. I wanted to include it because it’s quite minimalist, chic, and easy to throw on. If you’re struggling to find the right wedding guest outfit and nothing seems to be your style, this one is easy to dress up with some beautiful gold accessories!

Midi Blue Floral

Lastly, we have this dress from Miller, and I don’t have a hanger for it because it’s so heavy; it just keeps falling off. If you saw my last giveaway video, there was another Miller dress, the pink poofy one. With my brother’s wedding coming up, I was debating between the pink puffy one and this. Now, leaning towards this, I feel like for my brother’s wedding, I need to go a bit extra, even though I’m not in the bridal party. It has a unique twist on each side, and the model on the website wore it with one sleeve down, which looked stunning.

The dress has a full-on corset, very structured, and the back is a Thai corset-style back, which is hard to show without assistance. On each side of the corset, there’s a tool material, making it extra flattering. The length is perfect, and I was a bit nervous about ordering full-length dresses, but this one is just right. I might wear high shoes, but I think flats could work too since you can’t see the shoe underneath. Opinions are needed fast, as the wedding is this weekend. Let me know your thoughts on which dress I should wear.

And that is it for me today and that is it for my OCCASIONWEAR HAUL I hope you enjoyed it if you did definitely view the video down below and drop a comment below thank you so much for reading, and don’t forget to check out my other Blogs!
